The greatest loss in life is when it happens to you. The word bereavement literally means “being robbed”.  We have been robbed of that which is the most dear and precious to us. The dark tide of grief envelopes us, making us believe that there will be no tomorrow…no new dawn.

We are in a dark night of the soul, a night darker than the raven’s wing. It feels like an eternal night, one that will never end. There are no words that describe this type of woundedness, this type of spiritual trauma, yet grief cannot be denied. It has its own life; its own  voice that eventually we must embrace and listen to. Here is where the gift of soul-friendship can be a boat of hope aiding you in your soujourn through the dark uncharted waters of grief.  The Anam Cara Community is committed not to ‘walk behind’ or in ‘front’ of you’ but ‘with you’ through your healing from loss. We offer a type of bereavement therapy that gently cares for the soul while inviting ‘God-as healer’ into our presence as we search with you for a new hope to continue living.
